Aftercare

Aftercare is simple, after years of studying the aftercare process and its effects on the ink, it is known that anything and everything we put on fresh tattoos dilutes the ink thus causing the ink to become less vivid. Think about it like this….. leaving thin amounts of ointment, or applying ointment or lotions often during the first week or so, is like adding years of wear to the fresh ink. The only reason we apply ointments is that these ointments do help your skin heal. And so, you will see in this video that we only apply ointment ever other day no more than three times maybe four. This ointment must be completely removed. Mark Vincent is a Topnotch Tattoo Artist and an equally as talented Inventor thus invention is everywhere in his approach to tattoo.

Day 1: Watch for leakage for the first 24 hour! This will be the difference between having a bit of scabbing or none at all. video will explain

Day 2: Apply ointment (video will explain), then right after completely remove. Do this every other day day 2, day 4, day6, Apply ointment no more than three times. Do not battle/fight off dryness. Dryness is normal and is part of the life cycle/healing of the skin. Dryness is only a problem (rare) if your tattoo becomes red around the outside and painful many days after your appointment. Again remember that adding water and ointments is not good for the ink.

Any one of these ointments is a good choice. After applying, remove completely using soap and water.

Day 6: This is about the time of the 3rd and last ointment application your tattoo is probably pealing by now and or maybe completely done pealing. Pealing is normal and after this happens your tattoo is good to go. Know that theoretically ointments can still penetrate the ink and that moisturizing should continue to be avoided. For people who use moisturizers daily should not do so on a new Tattoo for the first 30 days.

Pro Tip: Every client should bring Bactine spray for their tattoo artist to use during the tattoo process. Mark Vincent invented a process in that the artist will rip the top of the Bactine bottle off, dump the contents in a cup and use in place of the water. Tattoo just got even safer as this Bactine will lower the pain and even fight off contaminants for days.

The healing process is incredible important and will dictate how the tattoo will look for years to come. Just keep in mind that we are working on preserving the ink and that everything you apply to the tattoo is not good for the ink itself and so do as little as possible.

For clients who are in construction or any occupation that can contaminate their new tattoo: Follow the instructions with these additional steps. Wash your tattoo after work with antibacterial soap and water. Purchase a protective sleeve to were if possible. Bring Bactine spay for your artist to use during the entire tattoo process. This will drastically help with contamination that could happen days after the tattoo as the tattoo will be saturated in Bactine. Any Client in the construction industry should have Bactine being used during the tattoo process. This is the responsibility of the Client as well as keeping their tattoo free and clear of contaminants
